Water Damage Recovery Due to Dishwasher Leak Troy, MI

We responded to the customer’s home in Troy, MI for some water damage in her kitchen from a failed dishwasher unit. The water affected the adjacent cabinets and nearby hardwood flooring causing noticeable warping of the planks. The technicians began by installing an Air Filtration Device on the unaffected side of the room to maintain quality breathing air for the elderly customer while they built containment. A plastic wall was erected using poles, tape, and a zipper to separate the rest of the home from the workspace. 2mil plastic was used to cover all the unaffected walls and cabinets in the kitchen to keep it all clean of dust and debris during the demolition. 

The affected flooring was removed along with an extra layer of subfloor. The area was cleaned with HEPA vacuuming and sanitized with a plant-based antimicrobial product. The remaining materials were inspected for moisture content. Wet materials were documented, and drying equipment was added to the chamber. 

Technicians returned multiple times on the following days to inspect the drying progress, leaving only what equipment was necessary to address the needs of the home. Once all the materials were dry, we removed all the equipment and containment. The customer signed a Certification of Satisfaction and is ready for reconstruction.
